Mother’s Love

Your mother’s love,Bleeding Heart 2
Strong and deep
Wrap around
My joy and tears,
Heart to heart.

You gave me birth.
You heard my first cry.
You read my first story.
You taught me my first word.
You applauded my first step.

You tried to protect me when I wouldn’t listen.
You ached when you couldn’t stop me.
You watched and wondered
How I’d ever make it through.
Feeling uncomfortable and helpless.

You taught me
Patience
Kindness
Perseverance
Not so much by your words,
But by your never-ending love
Through all the struggles and turmoil,
You love me still,
Heart to heart.

For that, I am eternally grateful.
More than you know.

I love you, Mom.
